Induction Stoves

Chefs love their gas ranges, right? However, we are increasingly aware of their negative impact on air quality and the environment. Compared to gas, induction stoves are easier on utility bills, the environment, and healthier for your family.

Top-rated brands, according to Consumer Reports, including Frigidaire, LG, and Samsung, are all available at Appliance Barn in Kalona and Ring’s Appliance in Tiffin. Another top brand, GE, is carried by Slager Appliance in Iowa City. These top brands range from $1,750 to $3,800. Installation may require new wiring and/or replacing pots and pans. Portable induction burners are available for under $100 – perfect for rented homes and tight budgets.

In late 2024, low- and moderate-income households may qualify for point-of-sale rebates covering up to $840 of the sales price. To check availability, go to the Energy.Gov / Home Upgrades page.
